In August of 2013, Autumn and her siblings had nowhere to turn after their mother was diagnosed with a severe illness and could no longer care for herself or her children. In this devastating circumstance, Autumn’s family learned about Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC), applied and was accepted to live on campus. It was at OBHC, Autumn and her siblings found a place that could provide hope, even after their mom lost her fight to the illness in 2014.

Jean’s story is 87 years strong. This wonderful lady has been a resident at Baptist Village of Owasso for seven years. “I lived with one of my daughters in Fort Worth, Texas. I moved to Oklahoma to be with another daughter in Owasso,” says Jean. “I was looking for a senior living community to move to. My daughter said, ‘Mother, I found the place for you. Let’s go see it.’ We did, and I knew right away that yes, this is where I’m supposed to be.”

Kaylee and Justin’s story began at summer camp 18 years ago. They were just kids who became friends instantly and kept in contact for many years. Little did they know that one day they would be raising a child of their own. “When we found out we were pregnant, we were filled with many emotions. We didn’t think we were ready to have a child. We knew we needed to find out how far along we were and get information on alternative options. We decided if we were less than eight weeks along we wanted to terminate the pregnancy. At the time it was just what we thought was the best.”
